Our History
C.O.A.C.H. Ministry seeds were planted over 30 years ago, when Nancy Melloh gave birth to a baby boy named, Todd, founder of COACH Ministry. Throughout Todd's life, Bud and Nancy Melloh poured themselves into their son. God delivered Todd to the best mother and father. He lived every child's dream by having loving parents who supported him. They constantly affirmed him through telling him how much they loved him and how proud they were of him.

He grew up on the eastside of Indianapolis in a very disciplined, but loving environment. His mother and father instilled, into all four boys, that family comes first. Todd never had to worry if his parents would ever get divorced. Those beliefs stemmed primarily from their faith, but equally as important, their love for each other and dedication to their family. Their love, affection and support of each other were prevalent throughout the good times and bad.

As a family, they went to dinner and the movies every Friday night, took vacations together, played games, went to ball games and spent time with their grandparents. His dad coached him in football and baseball throughout his childhood, while his mom faithfully watched from the stands.

God selected his parents because He knew that they would be able to pour into him the family values that he would need to carry out His plan for his life.

God prepared his path and shaped him through his family, strangers, coaches and many trials. Besides his dad, there were other male family members, that God placed into his life to help mold him including his two Uncles, Bill and Bob, his two older brothers Jeff and Mike, his two grandfathers, Bill and Travis. All of them provided an excellent example of what it means to be a man. The example was set and the bar was high for Todd to help teach his younger brother, Chad.

"We always did things as a family. My parents were excellent at including us and providing memories that my three brothers and I love to recall," beamed Todd. "As a family, we always looked forward to Friday night. That was our family night for dinner and the movies. It was incredible bonding time with the six of us"

Those family opportunities and love were prevalent throughout Todd's life, especially one on one time with his dad. Todd's dad would call him, his pal. They went to the movies, ran errands together, took day trips, had lunch and spent time with family. While doing these activities, Todd learned the lessons of life and the values necessary for boys to grow up to be men. Throughout his childhood, Todd was his dad's shadow. His dad became, and still is, Todd's hero.

Todd graduated from Butler University and started working for the Indianapolis Colts Radio Network and then the Indianapolis Colts. Todd spent 8 years selling and marketing the Colts. During Todd's tenure, the Colts sponsorship revenue grew from $200,000 to over $10,500,000.

He then founded a sports marketing company, representing athletes and running NFL player foundations and consulting businesses on their involvement in sports marketing.

While Todd enjoyed many successes throughout sports marketing, the last several years were passionless. Nothing seemed to satisfy his unquenchable thirst to do God's work. In October 2001, Todd started to hear the call to ministry. Some days were clearer than others. The call to ministry got greater in November 2004, while taking a series of courses called The Quest for Authentic Manhood and The Great Adventure which are products of Fellowship Associates.

This curriculum is designed to equip men to live the life that God intended for them. During this journey, men learn how to overcome some of life's painful wounds and move forward embracing a clear definition of manhood and end up developing a personal manhood plan. The goals are for them to break loose from the bondage of boredom and embark on the Great Adventure that God has uniquely designed for them. This curriculum helps men understand how they are wired and move forward with energy and enthusiasm to face the challenges of biblical manhood.

"The ironic part of these programs is I don't have any father wounds," said Todd. "I have always had an excellent relationship with my dad and still do. After hearing stories of other men, it made me weep inside. I was affected by their lack of love and male leadership in their lives."

"This coincided with God planting a seed and placing a vision in my head to start a Bible Study for fathers and sons. From that vision, I wrote a curriculum, called 24 Dates With My Dad, while taking The Great Adventure Course. One day at work in November of 2004, God poured into me a vision and purpose for my life. That vision wasn't possible without God sitting next to me pouring into me His vision for fathers and children."

24 Dates With My Dad was birthed at Todd's church, Northview Christian Life in Carmel, IN.

"Little did my dad know that his idea of spending a day with me when I was a child would turn into a ministry opportunity for hundreds of other fathers and sons," said Todd. "He would call me in sick to school and we would go to lunch and do something special, just the two of us. We would call it our day."

In February 2005, Todd left a lucrative job at Ball State University to serve God full-time. C.O.A.C.H. was formed on February 24, 2005.

However many career accomplishments that Todd has had in life, his main focus and most important job is to be a servant to God and a father to his two boys, Luke and Evan.

Todd has continued that tradition that his dad started, by establishing C.O.A.C.H. Ministry and 24 Dates With My Dad. He spends time with them by taking them to church, doing Bible studies together, teaching Sunday school, coaching them in sports and trying to replicate the types of activities that his dad implemented while Todd was growing up.
